Best Text Editor for Web Development

June 27, 2014 | By | No Comments

Seriously, Brackets (or Adobe Edge Code) is the way to go. I’ve spent some time evaluating Coda, Sublime Text and Espresso. Brackets picks up where each of these fall short. It’s inline editing is awesome. The interface is clean and simple, code hinting is solid. I’m a believer and i’ll be living in brackets from here on out. I was previously working exclusively in Dreamweaver CC code view, and since i wasn’t using the IDE at all, it just got too heavy and bloated. Brackets is quick, lightweight, yet handles everything i’d hoped it would. It highlights paired tags (why don’t they all?). Quick Commenting via (command)(/), solid hinting, great plugins. Give it a whirl, you’ll love it.
